Curriculum Overview
Distinguished curriculum
At EtonHouse we believe the features of an effective high-quality early childhood education program must include:
- The child as central to all decision making and planning
- The pedagogical consideration of listening to children
- Positive, respectful, reciprocal relationships (children, parents and staff)
- The integration of knowledge, skills, dispositions and attitudes
- Proactive social justice strategies
- Play as the central mode of learning and development for the youngest children
- Intellectually, socially and emotionally satisfying experiences
- The active participation of families
- A responsive and well-resourced physical environment
Our well-rounded EtonHouse Inquire.Think.Learn Curriculum is designed for young children from 18 months to 6 years old. Children are offered engaging learning experiences in an integrated dual-language environment. Japanese as an additional language is also offered by in-house educators. We also have our unique Mandarin Immersion Programme, offered to PN – N2 level, where the curriculum is delivered entirely in Mandarin.
Learning experiences are purposefully designed based on teachers’ observations of children’s interactions with peers, materials, adults and environment. Children’s unique interests, strengths and understandings form the basis for planning projects that are both engaging and meaningful.
Through our integrated hands-on approach, children develop a sound foundation in science, maths, arts and the languages along with social competence and creative thinking skills, while having fun and being fully engaged in driving their own learning.
We believe in holistic development of the children. Our holistic approach develops children to be critical, confident and independent; aims to make learning a process of self‐improvement that explicitly recognizes the self and the social context of learning and teaching.
Included in the curriculum are experiences with:
- 100 Languages (Art & Craft)
- Physical Education
Graduates from EtonHouse pre-schools have excelled when they progressed to both local and international primary schools.
