The annual SCCI (Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Career Women’s Group International Women’s Day Conference 2022 took place in a hybrid setting for the first time in two years. Mrs Ng Gim Choo, Founder and Managing Director of EtonHouse International Education Group was invited to be a panelist to share her experiences as a woman entrepreneur and educator, a mother, a wife and now a grandmother on how she balances the myriad roles that women play in society.
The theme this year is ‘wo-men’. United we can achieve so much more. We are so much more powerful as opposed to he or she.
Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Ms Grace Fu attended this wonderful occasion as the Guest of Honour and spoke about the resilience of women who wear multiple hats and lay the very foundation of society and are also leading the charge in environmental and sustainability practices. She spoke about nurturing a culture or care and respect in the workplace and encouraged women entrepreneurs to realise their dreams.
Mrs Ng was welcomed as a leader and trailblazer in business and education and one of Forbes Asia’s Power Women List in 2021. She spoke about her challenges and passion, her journey from an accountant to a housewife and an entrepreneur at the age of 40. She also spoke about the important role men play in helping women realise their dreams and that the responsibility of nurturing children and the future of society should be a shared one.
